West Licking Joint Fire District (WLJFD) covers 109 square miles, one of the largest Fire Districts in the State of Ohio. WLJFD is composed of several different townships, cities, and villages located in Licking County. These include Etna Township, Harrison Township, Jersey Township, Kirkersville, New Albany, Pataskala, and Reynoldsburg. WLJFD boundaries are from State Route 161 to the Fairfield County line, and from the Franklin County line to Gale Road.
WLJFD is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days out of the year. WLJFD currently have three stations and a fourth in planning stages. WLJFD employs three Administration Chiefs, two Prevention Officers, three Battalion Chiefs, 51 Full-Time Firefighter/ Paramedics, 21 Part-Time Firefighters, one Secretary, and one Fiscal Officer.
It is projected that in 2008 WLJFD will cover a population of approximately 36,000. In 2008 WLJFD responded to 4,423 emergency calls, of which 3,408 were medical related and 1,015 were fire and rescue related. WLJFD is classified by the Insurance Service Office with a Class 4 ISO Rating in hydranted areas in the West Licking Joint Fire District.

West Licking Joint Fire District has close affiliations with three non-profit groups; The West Licking Firefighters Association, West Licking Womens’ Auxiliary, and International Association of Firefighters West Licking Fire Local 3025.
